A mindset is generally a set of assumptions, beliefs and methods that a person or group of people have. It can also be seen as a person’s view of the world, their perception and philosophy about life. A mindset is not something that a person is born with, it’s developed over time and can be shaped so strongly that it can create a strong incentive with which people can adapt to new changes and beliefs and continue to grow and learn with the changing behaviors and environment. Growth mindset is the mindset with which people can adapt to new changes and beliefs and continue to grow and learn with the changing behaviors and environment. People with such a mindset are eager and open to learn new ideas, beliefs and methods that are challenging our mindset and the way we see things. Only in this way we can change and upgrade our mindset, otherwise our perceptions and beliefs won’t change, we won’t be able to accomplish things that we want to with such a fixed mindset.

Amal has made this thing easier with their mind blowing Amal totkay for developing a growth mindset. I learned a lot from these totkas and following are my takeaway from them:

1. We need to talk to ourselves through small pep talks, motivational words and appreciations constantly to develop a sense of self belief that I can do it, I’ve got this, I did a good job today. Our mind and body shapes and works according to our self beliefs so if we give negative remarks to ourselves, our performance will turn out to be negative.

2. We need to put ourselves in challenging and exciting situations that are challenging our mindset and the way we see things. Only in this way we can change and upgrade our mindset, otherwise our perceptions and beliefs won’t change, we won’t be able to accomplish things that we want to with a fixed mindset.

3. We need to learn about new things and adopt new habits and be persistent in them. This will open our mind to new things and will change our current fixed habits and view of the world.

4. We should ask for help when we feel like it, even asking for help can be difficult for some people but it also can be a habit to adopt and a thing to learn. Asking people to reflect on the changes of our behavior and attitude toward things can also help us improve our mindset.

5. Sometime it’s not easy to learn new things and adopt new habits so we should fake it till we have actually learned it. If we act like we know it we’ll eventually learn it with time. This is my favorite totka because it actually works and I’ve tried it myself quite a few times when I’m lacking confidence or I’m nervous, acting all confident and strong eventually led me to more confidence after acting like it for some time.

These five tips are what I’ve started to implement in my daily life to grow and learn with the changes behaviors and environment. I’m a person who talks to herself, encourages and comforts herself, the new thing I’ve started doing is to come out of my comfort zone which is a difficult thing to do but it’s worth it because nothing can change our mindset better than challenging ourselves with things that we haven’t done. With Amal I’ve started to learn new things everyday and I’ve been trying to adopt them as my habit. Working with many people, learning to work in teams is helping me to become able to ask for help when I need it.

I believe if I practice these things and habits on a daily basis I can start to develop a growth mindset starting from today.

Love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy efforts and keep on learning.
